Re: Independent Service Auditor’s Report: Voting System for the Pepsi Refresh Project

The following are the results of the audit conducted by Flying Aces Technology, Inc. on the procedures, technology and controls of the Pepsi Refresh Project’s Voting System:

Scope

Flying Aces conducted the audit to assess whether the Pepsi Refresh Project’s Voting System:

  • Meets consumer obligations
  • Delivers fair results
  • Prevents and deters attacks and fraud
  • Prevents operational errors

Between April 5, 2010, and April 16, 2010, the auditor:

  • Reviewed the web site’s official application guidelines, FAQs and other public statements as well as reviewed the web site’s transaction processing and related security controls.
  • Interviewed key personnel responsible for the voting system, the user registration system, the Facebook "Pepsi Refresh Voting App", and the refresheverything.com web site.
  • Reviewed internal documentation as it relates to the Voting System including technical specifications for transaction processing, application integration, fraud detection, and reporting.

Results

Flying Aces found the Pepsi Refresh Project’s Voting System to be robust, accurate and auditable in its design and implementation. Flying Aces did not detect any substantive issues with the Voting System. Furthermore, the entities involved have implemented suitable controls to deter fraudulent activity and prevent operational issues.
